Slavery Act Policy

This statement has been published in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It sets out the steps taken by Alison Black Ltd t/a Sportmax to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in its business and supply chains.

Our position

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which exploit someone else for the purpose of personal or commercial gain. Sportmax has a zero tolerance
approach to modern slavery and is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all its business dealings and relationships to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place in our business or supply chains.

As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk, all employees have a role to ensure that we are vigilant with respect to our suppliers and other employees in our business to ensure that no such activities take place.

Our Business

Sportmax is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of goods for resale to the leisure industry selling branded sports goods including swimwear, swimming accessories, gym / fitness accessories, footballs, football related products and racket sport accessories.

Our Supply Chain

We work with a variety of suppliers providing a wide range of products. In 2024 we will include an anti-slavery clause in our standard supplier terms and conditions. It is the responsibility of the Directors to monitor that our suppliers are adhering to their own standards and ours.

Our Employees

We have created a Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement which we have communicated to all our team members by making it available with our policies on the staff room notice board. We have held briefing sessions during 2024 for all of our employees on the contents of the statement and their role in implementing it.
